Little Learners West Northampton and Kettering at East Lodge Farm!
We had an unforgettable day filled with sunshine, laughter, and messy play at our very first outdoor class! Held at the beautiful East Lodge Farm in Ecton, Northampton, this special event was bursting with Easter excitement and hands-on fun for all our little mark makers. We kicked things off with a cheerful hello to all the Mark Makers before heading out to explore the farm and dive into our themed Easter tuff trays. Think chocolate goo, a crunchy cocoa pop bunny, and heaps of squishy spaghetti nest fun — all designed to support early writing skills in the most playful way possible!
Farmyard Fun – Messy Play Activities
We had some gorgeous sunny weather – so of course we had to make our marks in the sun. The children took part in lots of fun activities, all designed to hone those early writings skills. We had…
- Egg Decorating Worksheets to encourage mark making with an Easter twist!
- Messy Play Tuff Trays to get those little hands working!
- Fine & Gross Motor Activities like our popular ‘Hook A’ Egg’
Each and every one of our activities promotes early writing skills – making sure your child has a head start on their writing journey. At Little Learners West Northamptonshire & Kettering, we make learning fun… so don’t forget to check out our upcoming classes too! Have a look HERE!
Or if you’d like to try ‘Hook A’ Egg’ at home this Easter, all you need to do is…
- Fill a large bucket with water
- Throw in a few floating ‘eggs’ – ball pit balls work just as well
- Use nets, cups or whatever you have at hand as a ‘hook’
- Voila! You’ve got an easy peasy gross motor skill activity that will help your little one build up the muscles in the hands, wrists, arms and shoulders.
Always be sure to supervise any from of water play!
