Little Learners Fylde Coast – Meet Krissi!
Hi, I’m Krissi — wife, mum to two amazing boys, and dog mum to our much-loved cockapoo, who ensures I get my daily steps in whatever the weather. I’m also the proud owner of Little Learners Fylde Coast!
I’ve spent 25 years working as an Early Years teacher, supporting young children at the very start of their learning journeys. Early years has always been more than just a job for me, it’s a passion that sits right at the heart of who I am.
Alongside my professional experience, I also bring first-hand experience of SEND through parenting my own neurodiverse children. This has shaped me both as a mum and an educator, giving me a deeper understanding of how important inclusive, flexible and supportive environments are for children and their families. Every child develops differently, and I truly believe that all children deserve to feel safe, valued and celebrated for who they are.
That’s why I resonated so much with the Little Learners model! As an organisation they champion inclusivity and flexibility and believe that EVERY child should have the opportunity to make their mark. At Little Learners Fylde Coast, I work hard to make sure that inclusivity is at the heart of every single class, event and activity.
I joined Little Learners at a time when I needed more flexibility than classroom teaching could offer. My youngest son needed me, and the demands of the classroom simply didn’t allow the balance our family required. What started as a practical decision quickly became something so much more. Opening Little Learners Fylde Coast allowed me to combine:
- My love of early years development
- A real passion for early writing and mark making
- And my desire to create a supportive community for parents and carers!
I wanted to create a space where adults could come as they are — no pressure, no judgement — just a relaxed, welcoming environment where parents and carers can chat, connect, and maybe even find friendship and support from others who are on the same journey.
When I’m not covered in paint…
Outside of Little Learners Fylde Coast, you’ll usually find me:
– Watching (or attending!) Formula 1
– Enjoying figure skating
– Reading whenever I get a quiet moment
– Walking the dog and enjoying some fresh air
– I also have a serious love for chocolate and will never say no to a holiday in the sun!
My Why…
Little Learners Flyde Coast is about more than just messy play. It’s about confidence, connection, community and giving children the very best start — while supporting parents every step of the way.
