Easy Letter Recognition Activity

Looking for a Quick Letter Activity to do at home with your little ones with minimal set up?

This is a simple and Easy Letter Activity whether your looking for a way to introduce your little one to letters. It’s also a fun way to practice letter recognition.

I’ve used my letter whiteboards from our sessions but you could just write the letters on some plain paper or if you have a bit more time you could trace round your letters. Then I placed all my magnetic letters over the top so she could see what we were going to be doing. Next I put them all on the table beside her and asked if she could match them back up. We done the lower case letters first and then moved onto the upper case. I didn’t have a board for the upper case, so I just made my own and wrote the letters on a plain piece of paper.

We just used this activity as a matching activity as a simple introduction to her letters. You could adapt this to your child’s development and introduce the letter sounds. My daughter is 2 and she has shown some interest in letters and numbers in text so she was beginning to ask me the letter names.

My 2year old was engaged and thinking while in this activity as well as practicing her physical skills. It held her attention for a long time and is something she could do independently too.
