About me

Hello, my name is Josie! I am the owner of Little Learners Newark & Sherwood and I am so excited to bring mark making and messy play classes to the area!

** I am currently on maternity leave, excited to be welcoming my own little learner very soon! I will be aiming to start classes again in September – join the waiting list above to be first to hear when classes are re-starting!

I am a qualified teacher and have been teaching for the past 6 years. I absolutely love learning through play and have witnessed this every day since training to be a teacher.

Learning through play is such a valuable part of a child’s early development, it builds social and emotional skills, fine and gross motor skills and also a love of learning which is why I wanted to bring you Messy Play Classes in Newark & Sherwood.

Little Learners is a great way to combine all of these vital skills into a fun and engaging class for you and your little ones! The award-winning children’s classes focus on mark making and helping all children to make their mark in an exciting and stimulating environment!

Parties & Events

We can tailor each party to your child’s interests and provide a range of resources to suit your needs and budget. A ‘cake smash’ party is very popular and we have also catered to themes such as Trolls, Moana, Peppa Pig, Bing, Farm, Unicorns, Dinosaurs, Marvel Superheroes and many many more. The party room typically will be set up with themed messy trays, cake smash, sensory play, painting and drawing stations, play dough and bubbles.

Our party packages start from £130 for up to 15 children and can include a “cake smash” tray – we bring everything required, we set-up, deliver the session and then clear up all the mess afterwards, all you have to do is tell us the venue – what could be better?

Both my boys have loved the messy play sessions so far with Josie! There’s lots of opportunity for learning through play. My eldest is 2 and youngest is 6 months and there’s plenty of activities for both of them to do. So much fun had by all of the little ones at these sessions!

We have been coming to messy play since our son was 6 months old. He absolutely loves going each week & eating everything he can! Josie creates amazing classes & it’s a really nice atmosphere.

I have been bringing my daughter since Josie started and Isabelle has learned so much already and I can see how she is improving every term! We thoroughly enjoy coming and Josie is such a patient, friendly person, who I know Isabelle had befriended from day dot! There is so many different activities every week so the little ones never get bored. Thank you Josie! X

I’ve taken Charlotte to Messy play from when she was 6 months old, now she is 15 months old and still taking her she absolutely loves it every minute spending there and she also loves Josie, she is brilliant. It’s a lovely place to meet new mums too.
