Hi – I’m Natalie and I own Little Learners Waltham Forest. I provide messy play and mark making sessions as well as parties and events! I’m a miscarriage survivor and an IVF mama to a rambunctious 6 year whom you may see ‘helping’ me at sessions during school holidays!
My previous career was in the licensed kids wear section of the fashion industry. It was after returning to work following maternity leave that I knew I needed a career that was more complimentary to family life. Being a mother is everything to me, so although my hours were somewhat reduced I still found myself with the same workload as my full time colleagues and really struggling to create a work life balance that wasn’t loaded in mum guilt. When my work place started making redundancies I knew it was now or never for me to embark on this exciting new path.
Running little learners is both exciting and challenging at the same time – especially during the Covid times, but it still remains one of the best decisions I have ever made. I get to spend so much time with my little one and being available to take him to and from school is something I always wanted to do.
Not being able to have the big family I envisioned, meeting and interacting with all the little ones that come to my sessions fills me up with so much love and joy!
Messy play was one of my favourite activities to take my son to when he was little I loved watching him enjoy different textures with amazement. What I love about Little Learners is the educational aspect of mark making through messy play following the EYFS framework. At my classes I help to develop your child’s sensory, gross and fine motor skills while they get creative and explore different things while getting messy! Through mark making my goal is to give your child the tools needed to learn to form letters and numbers and eventually learn to write! All this is done in varying levels of interactive fun and mess and the added bonus is that there’s no tidying up for you – I do it all!
Baby and Toddler groups are also very beneficial to parents and caregivers. If this is your first child, I know firsthand that the adjustment to parenthood can be overwhelming. Interacting with myself and other parents at my classes is a great way to get out of the home and have some adult time while engaging with your little one in a safe, fun a friendly environment.
“I had my first interaction with Natalie over email where she was so amazingly helpful, friendly and professional, and she’s exactly the same in person. My son isn’t a fan of messy play at home but he loves seeing Natalie and is happy to get stuck in to most things when he goes to her classes. We can’t wait to go back once lockdown is over”
“We’ve had so much fun at your messy play classes, there’s so many great activities to do & you’re so welcoming. We look forward to coming back to join you again very soon x x”
“My grandchildren loved it!”
“Amazing class, my 14months son love it. A bit pricey but still worth it 😊”
Little Learners Birthday Parties are a unique and fun way to celebrate your little ones birthday. It would be tailored to your child’s interests or favourite character and I’ll provide all the resources to suit your needs and budget, I can even set everything up and leave leave and collect everything when you’re done!
