About me

Hi, I’m Mitch, the new owner or Little Learners Dumfries & North Carlisle.

While on maternity leave after having my second baby, I decided it was time to leave my job as a primary school teacher to find something that was going to allow me to have a better work-life balance; and after a bit of searching and I found the perfect thing for me – the wonderful franchise Little Learners.

It’s very much in my area of expertise, after over 20 years spent working with children, specialising in the Early Years. I gained an HNC qualification and a Bachelors Degree both in early years’ education and childhood studies, before going on to do my postgraduate degree in primary teaching.  I then taught primary for 9 years, 4 of which were spent running the school nursery.

I’m so excited to be bringing the Little Learners messy play programme, teaching early mark making and pre-writing skills through play to my local area, running classes from Dumfries through to North Carlisle.

Really looking forward to sharing my passion for fun and early education with children and parents!

Classes will be running at Rockcliffe Carlisle, Dumfries, Gretna and Lockerbie.
