What a week at Little Learners Lewes & Brighton!
We have been busy fundraising as part of Children’s Activity Week #CAW2019 for Caudwell Children. This is a fantastic charity that supports disabled children and their families. They have recently opened a children’s centre dedicated to supporting children with autism and their families. You can read more here >>> https://www.caudwellchildren.com/
So, we at Little Learners Lewes and Brighton decided to raise some funds and do a sponsored hand print challenge. Our aim was to make 500 handprints across my 3 classes this week. It was a huge challenge but we did it!! I did get my big learners at home to help a bit too! They LOVED it!! You’re never too old for a bit of messy play!
I wanted to contribute too, so I decided to donate 50p for each child that came to a class that week toward the total. There were some very generous donations in class and online – THANK YOU to everyone that contributed and/or encouraged their child to take part in our hand print challenge.
They took a while to count and we had quite a few footprints thrown in but our total was an amazing 504 handprints!
Our current fundraising total is (drum roll!) …… A WHOPPING £119.25!! 😃😍😃! That’s more than double my target!
It’s not too late to contribute – you can still donate online here. I’ll be taking the final total today (FRI) at 8pm >>> http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/KATERICHARDSON21
We had a great space theme in class to tie in with the Children’s Activity week theme of #WatchMeFly. Ziggy (our monster mark) zoomed off in his pasta space rocket and we had a visit from a gellibaff alien. There was also cosmic gloop, playdough with space cutters, space stencils, star stickers and space themed mark-making sheets. It was sooo much fun practising our zig zags and getting messy!
I’m buzzing this morning! You really are making a big difference to the children supported by Caudwell Children’s charity. THANK YOU!!!
