Fun and Easy Preschool Activity at Home!

A fun preschool activity!

My three year old loves counting and sorting so we made an activity to keep him busy when he gets home from nursery. It’s super easy to set up and you can use bits that you’re likely to have at home or pick up for pennies.

You’ll need: pegs, cups, pom poms, pen, sticky notes.

We set out the empty play doh pots and poured the pom poms into a dish. Then Isaac had to pick out the pom poms using a pincer grip with a peg and pop them into the matching coloured pot. Once they had all been sorted he tipped them out to count and practised writing the number and stuck it into the pot. Then we talked about smallest and largest amounts and ordered them.

There are lots of learning opportunities with this activity and we had great fun playing, especially when the pom poms popped out of the peg and across the room (which he found hilarious!)

Isaac’s fun rating: 10/10
